IT Service Management: A Companion to the IT Infrastructure Library (PDF)
(typically known as the “ITIL® V2 Pocket Guide”) is an excellent reference for all ten ITIL® V2 processes and the Service Desk Function. It summarizes each process's goal, responsibilities, key terms, and benefits. This publication is more relevant than ever, with the advent of ITIL® V3, for two reasons 1) the concepts are largely carried forward in ITIL® V3 “as is”, and 2) the pocket book contains details for these processes which are not contained in the V3 pocket guide, which focuses instead on providing an overview of the full IT service lifecycle.
