The ITIL® Qualification Board is beginning the process for the definite withdrawal of ITIL® V2 Certification Scheme. At the end of June it will no longer be possible for new candidates to take an ITIL® V2 Foundation exam.

Withdrawal schedule

As announced in October 2009, the withdrawal of the ITIL® V2 program will be completed by June 30, 2011. The withdrawal of the program will happen in phases:

      o V2 Foundation to cease June 30, 2010
     o V2 Manager to cease August 31, 2010
     o V2 Practitioner to cease December 31, 2010
     o Foundation Bridge to cease December 31, 2010

      *All of the above will be available for re-sits until June 30, 2011.*

      o Manager Bridge to cease June 30, 2011
     o Service Support and Service Delivery publications will be removed on June 30, 2011.
        Though in the later period these may only be available as ‘print on demand’ or in electronic formats.
     o Continued availability of all other version 2 publications will be considered on a case by case basis as they come up for reprint,
        with all being removed no later than June 30, 2011.
